Optimists tell themselves:

1. Bad things are temporary. ("That happens occasionally but it's no big deal.")

2. Bad things have a specific cause and aren't universal. ("When the weather is better than that won't be a problem.")

3. It's not their fault. ("I'm good at this but today wasn't my lucky day.")

The Perdjama Cave Castle was built in the 1200s in Slovenia. It has lots of secret tunnels and several caves, one was an actual dungeon. One tunnel is over 8 miles long!

One of the most famous castles in the world, it was home to a knight named Erasmus von Lueg, who is compared to Robin Hood. He was known as an unbeatable knight. Unfortunately for Erasmus, one of his servants betrayed him and lit a torch above an outhouse, which was a signal to his enemy that the master was using the toilet. A cannonball struck the outhouse and Erasmus was no more! Bummer! Since then, the outhouse has been reconstructed.
