This weekend:

This Saturday, 8/26, 4-7pm, there will be a whole bunch of kids focusing on improving their business skills at Lone Rock Farmers Market. We have 21 vendors already, including the adults. Our regular vendors will be doing business right along side the kids who will have their own products, tables, & canopies. Come out & support them by purchasing their products. We want these kids to be encouraged to get excited about the process of free enterprise. We will have Marrow Family Farm Produce, & Rick's Rockin' Grill will be back with its usual juicy bacon burgers & brats. Baked goods, frozen treats, specialty drinks, & so much more. See you Saturday!!

The Bitterroot Water Partnership (formerly the Bitter Root Water Forum) and Bitterroot Audubon invite you to join us at Lee Metcalf for a Trails and Tributaries Birding Hike on Saturday, August 26th. Join Bill and Becky Peters and Alex Ocanas for a relaxing walk from about 10:00 to 1:00. We'll be on the flat Kenai Nature trails, near the Visitor Center, and by the nearby ponds for about 1+ miles. Then, we'll drive over to the flat Wildlife Viewing trail near the river and walk another mile. (Birders don't cover a lot of ground quickly!) These routes are wonderful for grandparents and kids. If you have never been birding at the Metcalf Refuge, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try! Bill will be carrying a scope for us to get a closer look at birds that we see. We'll talk about binoculars if you've never used them, go over the characteristics of some of the birds we hear and see, and discover the importance of the ponds and Bitterroot River at Metcalf to our avian friends.
